This page is devoted to providing educational resource links and information on general well-being of equines.

"Horse Rescue 101" -- The June, 2001 issue of Horse & Rider magazine had a splendid article written by Karen E. N. Hayes, DVM, MS, titled "Horse Rescue 101".  The link above contains a short summary of the article, including the "six commandments of equine advocacy".  For more information about Horse & Rider, please go to www.horseandrider.com .

Jessica Jahiel's HORSE-SENSE Newsletter.  This is one of the best newsletters I've ever come across.  It is subscriber-supported, but those who can't afford to send a contribution can still receive the newsletter for free.  Jessica is not only an expert on horses (care, training, riding, management, etc.), you can tell that she truly loves animals and is highly interested in their welfare.  She has a website called Jessica Jahiel: Holistic Horsemanship.  Her site has archives of over 900 past newsletters.  Check it out; you won't be sorry!  And here, re-printed at this site (by express permission of the author) is one of the most important articles I've ever read on rescue societies and owner responsibility: Jessica Jahiel's Newsletter #3211.
