Lafayette County, Wisconsin, Abandoned Animals

Lafayette County, Wisconsin, does not have an animal shelter.  If you find an animal in Lafayette County that has obviously been abandoned, please call 608-439-1062.  Please leave any information about the animal that you consider important, its location, etc.  We will either have one of our contacts pick the animal up or we will contact the Lafayette County Police.  We will also make arrangements with an animal shelter in a nearby county to accept the animal.

Please try to make sure that the animal has been abandoned and is not a farm animal out on a "stroll".  For example, a dog that has been abandoned may just stand in the same place where he was abandoned, watching the cars go by, waiting for his owner to come back.  Each animal is different, however, and you may have a difficult judgment call.
